Project Background
Situated in the heart of the Exmoor National Park, The Staghunters Inn is a family owned and run establishment. Nestled on the banks of the River Lyn in an ideal location for exploring an area of outstanding natural beauty The Staghunters welcomes guests from across the county.

The Project Requirement
Mr. Wyburn wished to replace his 2 costly and inefficient oil boilers with a green, renewable solution which would be both environmentally friendly, reducing CO2 emissions and also be financially rewarding, while giving his guests and staff reliable heat throughout the year.

Wood Pellet Boiler

Project Summary
Using our in-house 3D modelling capabilities we designed, installed and commissioned a purpose built, fully automated ETA PE-K 90 Wood Pellet Boiler system, with automatic ignition. Required to heat and supply hot water to the hotel's 12 guest rooms, restaurant, kitchen and bar the system is operated via a touch screen to allow the client to easily monitor boiler performance.

We constructed a 7 tonne Wood Pellet store and 2000 litre thermal store on site, all to RHI regulations, and we were able to assist Mr. Wyburn with Heat Meter reports and the final RHI application submission.

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
The Staghunters' new ETA PE-K 90 Wood Pellet Boiler system fits within the 20 year Non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme.

As well as delivering substantial fuel cost savings, this installation will see Mr. Wyburn receive RHI payments from the government of 8.8p per kWh of heat generated by the system.

The project will gain approximately an average of £18,500 additional income every year for 20 years. The RHI payments and the fuel cost savings make the project both sustainable and financially viable with the initial outlay paid off in 4-5 years.

Customer Feedback
"I am very pleased with the system, it is very efficient at both hot water provision and central heating."

"I found the system very easy to use and operate. It has saved me a lot of money so much so that it will have paid for itself within 4 years."

I had total confidence with Jason from Blake Ecotec Limited from the outset, I was not disappointed."

Mr. Richard Wyburn, Owner, The Staghunters Inn.
