Heating more multiple dwellings with a single biomass solution is a very viable option for heating and hot water as there is potential to be paid for the energy generated by the installation. There are many potential solutions that we can help with:
In the case that an owner has two attached domestic properties it is more economically viable to install a district heating project, than to install one boiler per dwelling.
We recommend:
Financially viable:
In the case of Commercial businesses such as holiday lets; having one boiler serve all buildings and being paid for the energy consumed over a 20 year period making the project both sustainable and financially viable when compared to installing each holiday let with an individual boiler.
Fuel Savings:
Buildings that are potential district heating projects are usually in areas that are off gas, therefore importing oil or LPG to site. These are already more expensive than wood pellet or chip so as well as the RHI incentive there is also the prospect of making further savings with fuels. We perform payback analysis of potentially how much money you could earn per year by switching to a greener fuel.
Heat metering negates any losses in the system, only recording heat supplied to the buildings, not the heat that the boiler creates, and pays purely on the heat that is delivered to the building(s).
