Biomass Heating Solar Heat Pumps

Domestic Renewable Heating Solutions

There are plenty of options for heating in the domestic sector with biomass boilers , air source heat pumps, or solar thermal solutions, as well as conventional methods of heating such as gas and oil boilers.

How we can help:

Once an enquiry is made a member of our Sales Team will meet the customer and discuss the heating system that is currently installed and the products and solutions that we offer.

From these site visits heat loss calculations are carried out at the property on a room by room basis. This gauges the extent of the heat lost from the building to its surrounding environment. We take all the variables into consideration, such as floor covering, cavity walls, loft insulation, windows, ventilation rates and required heating outputs to determine the heat loss of each room. Taking into account the calculated heat loss and the needs of the customer we look into the possibility of each technology.

Typical heat losses for domestic properties vary greatly due to the UK' high percentage of old housing stock, with properties built from the Victorian era up to the modern day energy efficient home. The heat loss can deviate from 4kW to 40kW and above.

Our Domestic Soltutions:

We can offer the following solutions for domestic properties:

  • Hydro biomass stove 10-24kW; these are typically installed in existing fireplaces but do have scope for other installation locations.
  • Biomass boiler 7-45kW; these can range from a manual boiler to fully automated, as well as options on manual clean or self cleaning. Dependant on size, some boilers will require dedicated boiler rooms, others will not.
  • Air source heat pumps 6-12kW; these are typically installed in new builds or smaller properties with low heat losses, work with under floor heating or radiators.
  • Solar thermal 1-10kW; these are mainly installed for domestic hot water applications, can be fitted to exiting cylinder, but best practice is to install to a solar thermally rated hot water cylinder

All the products we install are MCS registered or Solar Key marked which makes these installations eligible for the Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) grant which at present is £2000 for biomass, £1300 for air source heat pumps and £600 for solar thermal.

All renewable products we install come with a two year warranty and are also eligible for the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). Check out our RHI Calculator to find out how much a renewable heating solution could earn you!
